Company Overview

The Vietnam Northern Food Corporation is a special state established under Decision No.312/TTg 1995 of the Prime Minister on the basis of reorganization of enterprises, belonging to Centre Food Corporation I and businesses in provinces from Thua Thien Hue northward. In 2009, the Prime Minister issued Decision No.1544/QD-TTg reforming Northern Food Corporation in to the "the parent company-the subsidiary company" and establishing the parent company-Vietnam Northern Food Corporation". In late 2009, the Prime Minister instructed the merger of Salt Corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development into Vietnam Northern Food Corporation. In 2010, the Prime Minister issued Decision No.982/QD-TTg on the transformation of the parent company-Vietnam Northern Food Company into one member limited liability Company owned by the state. In 2011, the Prime Minister issued Decision No.609/QDTTg on endorsing the charter of organization and operation of Vietnam Northern Food Corporation. Currently, the Company has 39 member units of independent accounting (activity in the form of joint-stock company and joint venture), 12 units depending on the Corporation and the system of national salt storage with operating areas in the whole of the country. The main tasks of the corporation are to export-import foods, participating in consumption of foods and goods from farmers, in purchase and in consumption of salt to stabilize the domestic market, ensure national food security, security of salt.
